"Beachfront" on Amelia Island is a specific term. It means your room is on the ocean side of A1A, and you can see water from your balcony. "Direct beach access" means you can walk to the sand without crossing a road. The hotels below are the ones where you open the door, walk through the property, and your feet are in the sand. Not across a highway. Not at a shuttle. Direct.

What "Beachfront" Means on Amelia Island

There are three categories:

  1. Direct ocean — the property is on the sand. You can be in the water in under 60 seconds from your room.
  2. Across A1A — the property is on the mainland side of A1A, you cross the highway to reach the beach. Adds 2–5 minutes of walking.
  3. Sound/marsh view — the property faces the Intracoastal or marsh, not the ocean. Still water views, but not the Atlantic.

The 8 hotels below are all "direct ocean" — the property ends at the sand.
